The president says he’ll fight any attempt to force his party to vote for any particular candidate, regardless of the outcome.
The Republican president, who has long refused to take part in the presidential election, says he’s not going “to let them” have the votes of the American people to choose the party’s nominee.
And he also says he won’t let them use a “one-sided and unfair” election as an excuse to suppress the vote.
“I’m a Republican.
I have to be honest.
I’m not a Democrat,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
“But I am a Republican and I’m going to be a Republican, because I will do what I have always done.
And I’m a very strong conservative.”
Trump has previously argued that if the election were to be stolen from him, it would not be “my fault” but rather that of the electoral college.
Trump has also argued that a rigged election would help Democrats by helping them “make up” the results.
