The number of cryptocurrency coins on the market has hit a milestone of around $200 million, according to Coinmarketcap.com.
As of the time of writing, the market capitalisation of cryptocurrency is $3.17 trillion.
The total value of all cryptocurrencies is about $7.1 trillion.
The market capitalised number of coins on Coinmarketmark is around $3,819.6 billion.
The total market capitalise of all coins is $7,715.4 billion.
Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency, followed by Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash and Peercoin.
Cryptocurrency has been growing rapidly in value, with the market cap of Bitcoin rising from around $300 million in 2014 to around $800 million in 2019.
The value of Bitcoin has gone up from $9,000 to more than $10,000 per coin.
According to CoinMarketcap.org, the value of the cryptocurrency market as a whole has risen from around £4 billion in 2014, to £6 billion in 2019 and £7 billion in 2020.
Coinmarketcap reports that around 70% of the total value is held in the cryptocurrency exchange markets, with another 10% in the digital asset trading markets.
The majority of these are listed in the New York Stock Exchange, while others are traded in the U.S. and the European Union.
In 2019, the total market value of cryptocurrencies is estimated to be around $9.2 trillion, which is almost a quarter of the value in 2019, according the Coinmarket cap.com report.
The global market capitalization of cryptocurrencies rose from $5.6 trillion in 2018 to around £7.3 trillion in 2019 with $9 billion in total value in 2020, the report said.
